One of the hottest crazes sweeping the US food and beverage industry is craft beer. Local brews, made by local people with passion. Most notable in the Boston area are Sam Adams and Wachusett, which are widely distributed across the country. Local newcomer, Castle Island Brewery, has been four years in the making for founder Adam Romano. “I’m really excited for folks in the Boston area to finally experience our beer,” he said. “We’ve been talking about – and working on – this project for a long time. After years of sampling and soliciting feedback on our beer, it feels great to finally share a finished product with New England drinkers.”
Located in our backyard at 31 Astor Ave in Norwood, the brewery is open for business serving up it’s first three beers – available in 16 ounce cans. The beers are Candlepin, described as a hoppy session ale, Keeper, an American IPA, and TBD, a hoppy stout. Currently the beer is only offered at the brewery, but what fun to venture in for free 2 ounce samples and take a 4-pack home to enjoy. Add this to your list of resolutions – it’s one you’re sure to keep!
