February break is just a week away, and with temperatures hovering somewhere around freezing, the kids can only spend so much time running around outside. Give them something to look forward to other than a snowball fight, and sign your budding artists up for a Pop-Up Art School at Morrill Memorial Library!
Your children are bound to be fascinated by the story of Peter Max, famously known for his bright 1960’s paintings. The one-day workshop will teach kids about Max’s use of psychedelic shapes and color palettes, and the pop-art-focused nature of his art. Max will be the inspiration for the lesson in one point perspective.; your child will bring home a finished drawing showing simple shapes projected into the foreground from one point on the horizon. Color will be applied using watercolor paints and markers. Teaching our youth freedom through art and expression really is what Max strives for.
This event will be held on Tuesday, February 16 from 10:00 am to 2:00 PM at Morrill Memorial Library in Norwood, Massachusetts, open to ages 8-12. Even better, the pop-up art school is FREE, however, registration is required. Email email@example.com, telephone 781-769-0200 ext. 225.
